complicated architectures, from AWS to GCP, while avoiding

The challenge

Walla’s infrastructure and codebase were a big black box. Mapping
the infrastructure, handling massive databases, and connecting the

The solution

Walla now uses a modern GKE with microservices architecture, as
well as BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Memorystore, Pub/Sub, Cloud CDN,
and many more managed services to simplify the infrastructure and
scale their services in real-time.

The results

The overall financial results of the migration are staggering, with
savings of hundreds of thousands of dollars per year! Walla’s news
portal and mobile apps are running faster and better than ever. Walla’s
mail service has been drastically improved and enhanced.
