WideOps engineered the end-to-end AWS-to-Google Cloud move: containerising services, building Git-triggered Cloud Build pipelines, provisioning separate dev/test/prod projects, and enabling Cloud Monitoring dashboards with tailored alerts.

The Challenge

Effectivate’s growth on AWS EC2 and Lambda drove rising costs and maintenance windows that risked interrupting its subscription service for thousands of daily learners. The team sought a fully managed, cost-efficient platform that could be adopted with zero downtime and without rewriting the application.

The Solution

WideOps containerised the workload into Open Container images & deployed them to Cloud Run for per- request autoscaling. Data was moved to CloudSQL using Database Migration Service’s continuous replication. Legacy Lambda tasks were rewritten as Cloud Functions and scheduled via Cloud Scheduler. Bitbucket commits now trigger Cloud Build to test and promote images across dev, test, and production.

The Result

Effectivate completed the cut-over with no user-visible downtime or data loss. The new serverless stack scales instantly to traffic spikes and eliminates routine patching, allowing engineers to release updates daily instead of weekly. Consolidated monitoring and alerting give the team real-time insight and faster incident response.
