WideOps partnered with Evogene to enable seamless migration of their on-premise infrastructure to Google Cloud, leveraging GCP’s scalability and flexibility. Our role involved architecting, implementing, and modernizing cloud-native solutions tailored for high-volume data workloads, enhancing Evogene’s ability to meet customer needs with speed and reliability.

The Challenge
Evogene sought to modernize its infrastructure by migrating to GCP to achieve greater scalability and operational efficiency. The existing on-premise setup limited their ability to handle significant data loads and to deploy solutions reliably at scale. Additionally, they faced challenges with cost-effective data storage solutions and required enhanced data visualization to improve cost management.

The Solution
WideOps architected and deployed a solution using Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) for optimized workload orchestration. To tackle data storage costs, we implemented gcsfuse for streamlined data handling, accommodating large volumes of data while keeping expenses manageable. Integrating with on-prem Airflow to support their high workload requirements, we also set up Looker for enhanced cost visibility, giving Evogene real-time insights into their GCP expenditures.

The Result
Evogene’s migration to GCP has improved data management, scalability, and significant operational efficiencies. They now benefit from a cloud-native, cost-effective storage system and can visualize and monitor costs in real time through Looker, ensuring greater financial transparency and optimization of cloud resources.
