Overview:

This intermediate, hands-on course is designed for developers and technical professionals who wish to build enterprise-ready generative AI applications. Participants will learn how to leverage Vertex AI Search for grounding applications (such as RAG), create sophisticated conversational agents using natural language, and integrate them into advanced multi-agent workflows.

What you’ll learn:

• Explore Vertex AI as a platform for enterprise-ready generative AI.

• Create and deploy custom search engines using Vertex AI Search.

• Ground outputs from foundation models using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

• Create and manage conversational agents using natural language and playbooks.

• Integrate agents into multi-agent workflows using the Agent Development Kit (ADK) and Vertex AI Agent Builder.

Key Modules:

Module 01: Vertex AI and AI Applications Understand the options in Vertex AI for generative AI. Explore the role of AI Applications across Search, Recommendations, and Agents, and examine their core enterprise use cases.

Module 02: Vertex AI Search Learn basic concepts including apps, engines, and data stores. Understand how to prepare and import data into a data store, and configure and deploy a custom search app.

• Lab: Integrating Vertex AI Search Into Your Application

Module 03: Grounding Applications Discover why grounding is crucial for enterprise applications and how to leverage Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). Test grounding options on Google Cloud using Vertex AI Studio and SDK.

• Lab: Grounding LLMs with Vertex AI Search

Module 04: Conversational Agents Dive into the Customer Engagement Suite (CES) and compare deterministic vs. generative agents. Learn to manage conversations using playbooks, use examples to improve responses, and leverage data store tools for grounding.

Module 05: Multi-agent Applications on Vertex AI Explore multi-agent applications and agentic AI. Gain an introduction to the Agent Developer Kit (ADK), Vertex AI Agent Garden, and Agent Engine to build complex, multi-agent applications.
